The course is available to pilots that currently hold at least the FAA Single Engine Land Commercial Pilot certification and now wish to add the CFI and CFII instructor ratings.
The Flight Instructor Program is a full immersion program designed to be completed in 21 days. Classes begin every day, including weekends, at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch. Flights will be scheduled before or after class time. Students must plan another 3-4 hours of home study before the next morning class. Do not plan any site seeing, there are no breaks!
The program includes 120 hours of ground school, 6 hours of one on one ground instruction, 16 hours of flight instruction, and 3.5 hours of flight time for checkrides. Single Engine flights are done in a Cessna 172 & a Cessna 172RG.
The instructor ratings earned are Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Instrument Instructor (CFII). The Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) may also be earned for an additional cost (The multi-engine training is performed in a Piper Seneca I).
